Welcome to 98.5 theLight’s Community Events Calendar
You can submit your own Church or Community event by clicking “Events” > “Add Your Event” above.
This feature has been set up to help connect the community and give those churches that don’t have a website the chance to have events posted online for all to see. This service is for all Christian churches, community groups and other not-for-profit-organisations. Our Events Page is a free service where your events can be posted online. The only thing we ask is that you mention that the details are available online on this website. You input all the info and submit it for approval#. We will do all the promoting. Including on air announcements, FaceBook and Twitter posts and of course on the website.

STEP OUT Against Violence Albury Wodonga
November 25, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pmFree
Community march: 5pm (gather 4.45pm), departs Swift Street (behind Albury Entertainment Centre)
Community celebration: 5pm – 8pm, QEII Square, Dean Street, Albury
STEP OUT is a whole of community event, engaging local residents, community groups, schools and businesses to join together in a show of strength and support for survivors and people currently living with Family and Domestic Violence, as well other violent crimes. This is an inclusive event whereby we encourage all ages, gender, people of all abilities and race to become involved.
The STEP OUT march will provide the Albury Wodonga community a peaceful opportunity to publically say NO to violence and launch 16 Days of Activism. The march is proposed to depart from Swift Street (behind Albury Entertainment Centre) at 5pm, peacefully proceeding along Kiewa & Dean Streets to QEII Square, where the community celebration will take place until 8pm. There will be information stalls, food, live entertainment and family friendly activities at the community celebration.
STEP OUT is a community driven, not for profit initiative. The development of this initiative is supported by local services including Albury City Council, Albury Community Health Service, Youth and Family Services, NSW Police and the Australian Defence Force. Special thanks to our major sponsor Albury Rotary Club.
Our hope is that this service will help connect the church community in Albury Wodonga and as the Scriptures say,
Romans 12:4-5 “ 4For just as in one body we have many members, and not all the members serve the same function, 5so we who are many are one body in Christ, and individually we are members who belong to one another.”
#Please note that once you submit your event it can take up to 48 hrs to be approved by our administrator before being displayed. 98.5 theLight AlburyWodonga reserve the right to not display, remove or edit any post submitted.
