How can you help?
98.3 theLight is a unique local ministry, not owned by any single individual but by the entire community. When you share what you’ve heard on theLight, recommend a program to friends, or pray for our announcers, the sponsors and ministry partners who support us, or the artists who create the music we all enjoy, you become a part of what we’re building together. While our formal structure involves membership through AWCB Inc., with the Committee of Management (CoM) overseeing our direction, our heart remains deeply rooted in listening to and serving the local community.
Ways to Support 98.3 theLight Albury Wodonga:
Membership (Non-tax deductible)
- Anyone who agrees with and signs our “Statement of Faith” can apply for membership. Members pay an annual fee of $33 or $66 and have the right to vote on key decisions, as outlined in our Association’s rules or constitution.
Sponsorship (Tax deductible through business advertising costs)
- Our sponsors are local businesses or ministry groups who support theLight financially through sponsorship agreements. This partnership helps them reach the community while supporting our mission.
Donations (Tax deductible for amounts of $2 or more)
- Donations of $2 or more, collected throughout the financial year, are tax deductible. Many donors choose to give regularly, becoming “Monthly Partners.” For example, a $50 monthly donation totals $600 annually. We also welcome one-time gifts and contributions during our appeal periods. All donations are consolidated and tax receipts are issued after June 30 each year.
The community of Albury-Wodonga plays a crucial role in sustaining and growing 98.3 theLight. Our aspirations include having paid announcers on-air all day, focusing on local events and issues, expanding our team of volunteers, and hiring a full-time manager. With your support, we can achieve more and continue to serve and connect our community effectively.

There have been many years of work and many answered prayers to Keep theLight on. you could thank God for providing a space on the radio spectrum for a Christian radio station operated by the Christian community in Albury Wodonga. Also pray God will continue to lead AWCB Inc. and direct the leadership of theLight in all it’s forms, for His purpose in Albury Wodonga.

Our Goals
One Tree Hill Project
The One Tree Hill Project was the final stage needed to give you the best reception of theLight Albury Wodonga. Completed in early 2024 98.3 theLight Albury Wodonga has a coverage of over 130,000 and is broadcasting to Henty, Holbrook, Jingellic, Tallangatta, Dederang, Beechworth, Springhurst, Wangaratta, Rutherglen, Walbundrie and everywhere inbetween.
We have listened as you have taken the time to tell us you want to hear 98.3 theLight Albury Wodonga in your homes. You wanted theLight Albury Wodonga to spread to all of Albury Wodonga and beyond. And we have finally been able to deliver. We have the required go-ahead from the government and have moved our transmitter, increased our transmission coverage and given you the Christian radio station you have been asking for.
With every benifit there is an associated cost and this change is no diferent. There has been a significant increase to the cost of running 98.3 theLight with higher transmission costs and new tower rental.
