Some people have stories that follow them around: “You do know about the time he…” or “You may not realise it, but though she looks like butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth, there was the time that…”
Jesus told a story about ten young ladies who were waiting a wedding. Specifically, they were waiting for the bridegroom to come. It’s called the Parable of the Ten Virgins (Matthew 25:1–13). “Virgins” just means “young ladies.” In this story, they are the friends of the bride.

It’s so easy to let fear dictate your life. I know, because so often I find myself doing just that. I let the fear of failure stop me from stepping out. I let the fear of man control my self-esteem. I let the fear of an unknown future paralyse me from enjoying the present.

When I was a little girl, all I wanted to be was a mother. Sure, I played around with being a marine biologist (who knew you had to be good at science?!), and I would teach school to my dolls and stuffed animals.
People are like mirrors. We look at them and think that we see ourselves in what we see reflected back. If we see things like forgiveness and love, then we believe ourselves to be worthy of forgiveness and love. If, on the other hand, we see unforgiveness and rejection, then we believe ourselves to be unforgivable and unacceptable.
