My family and I have developed some traditions over the years that have become part of normal life in the Addis household and one of those traditions has been to organise a treasure hunt at Easter with the “treasure” being Easter eggs.
“Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves obey him!” (Mark 4:41, NLT).
Who is this man Jesus that we should believe on him? The Man of the Cross is the true Adam, the true Moses, the true prophet, priest, and king. Everything in the Old Testament was written for him.

The older members of our community are in a pretty difficult position right now. Those over 70 have been all but ordered to stay home to protect themselves from COVID-19, and with all social activities cancelled, the elderly are forced into even greater isolation.
A few Saturday nights ago (only 36 hours before all restaurants and cafes were closed by the government) my 17-year-old daughter grabbed the car keys, called out “See ya Dad!” and ran down the front steps to head out with friends.

There’s no denying things are seriously crazy right now. COVID-19 is wreaking havoc and leaving a trail of chaos, confusion and fear in its wake. I don’t have a lot of answers, but God’s Word has a lot of promises.
The world has gone slightly crazy and it seems the virus is all anyone is talking about. It makes my brain tired.

Isolation makes you think. Holed up at home with only family and FaceTime to fill the social void, we’re left with a lot more time to consider life’s essentials, and the things that matter most.
