Recently, I was reading about the incredibly long hours Australians work:
- 4 million of us work more than 45 hours a week
- 2 million clock up to more than 50 hours
- 1 million of us do over 60
It’s no wonder we’re sometimes called the burnout capital of the world!
Why are we working so hard? There are lots of reasons, but for many, it feels like we have no choice.
We’re slaves to a demanding system.
Which is why the words of Jesus are so comforting:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you…for I am gentle and humble in heart.”
Jesus says: bind yourself to Me, take My yoke upon you. Looking for a different way ro handle the busyness? Why not come to Jesus and discover His gentle and humble way?
